This potter's wheel is ideal almost anywhere because of its portability and built-in throwing strength. It is suitable for schools, studios or individuals. It can handle up to a 25 lb. load of clay but is light enough at 26 lbs. to be moved anywhere. The heavy-duty aluminum wheel head is 11" in diameter and is only 3.875" above the tabletop. It has a 1/3 horsepower industrial motor and a micro V belt for smooth, quiet power. The variable speed hand control ranges from 0-220 RPM. Included are two injection molded high quality bats. Also included are two 2-1/2 quart buckets that fit into convenient holders built into the housing and a two part splash pan. The wheel direction is right handed. I have been teaching art for grades 1-12 for 2 years. This wheel is very economical and delivers well for light-medium classroom use. For someone who does not plan on being a production potter and does not have thousands of dollars at their disposal I would recommend this wheel. You will not be disappointed. Just make sure you have a low table to work on.
